My favourite Firefox extension

One of the beauties of Firefox as a browser is the fact that you can tailor it to your own needs with a huge variety of plugins, extensions, add-ons – call them what you will.  The choice in enormous but I have a favourite, do I ever have a favourite.  I wish I could remember who told me about it because I owe that kind soul – big time!  So what is this joyous thing that makes my life so easy, Cool Iris – cool by name and cool by nature.

What does it do, just hover over a link and a little white spyglass in a blue square pops up  – click on that and you have a ‘window’ into the site without having to leave your original page.  You can stack ‘windows’, print from them, work in them – pretty well most things.  It is just the biggest time saver on the planet when you are doing research or just need to cast a quick eye over a site.   I love it.  I don’t waste countless hours cursing as I find my way back to the point I started from when I get sidetracked – which we all do.  And it’s free!

Whoever it was who told me about it – Thank You a million times.  To the guys at Cool Iris – you are the best! To the rest of you – go get it… click here

If you are one of those poor, benighted souls that still uses IE – you can get a version for that too – but do yourself a favour, switch to Firefox
