If someone offered you fifteen years advertising online and off, how much would you pay? I came across something today that will do just that for a relatively small amount. And it’s a novel idea too – I like novel ideas!
Entrewiki is a new site – currently in beta (but then isn’t everything on Web 2.0) which is a Directory of Business Ideas. You can advertise anything on the site which will help someone start a new business online or off so it covers pretty well everything. They will convert offline advertising material into wiki markup language so that it can be searched online by the likes of Google, Yahoo and so on. In time they will also take the adverts offline to Start Up magazines and publications. Once a EntreWiki page goes live you will be able to edit it just as you would any interactive webpage and add Videos, Feeds – most things as far as I can see.
The team behind the start up are the guys that created the One Buck Wiki and the Five Dollar Wiki so they have a pedigree in the marketplace, and I do think that more and more people are looking for umbrella sites where they can find good information about their chosen topic without all the rubbish that trawls up through some of the search engines – just the thought of umpteen million pages is enough to put anyone off
They aim to use the emergent technologies of Web 2.0 like Wikis and blogs that are now accessible to so many non IT-savvy users, combine that with Social Networking and offline technologies to produce a harmonious whole which should benefit both the advertiser and the user. Like I said – a novel idea combining many different approaches. The home page has a brief video which explains the workings of the idea in more details – if slightly basic but that’s no bad thing either!
Maybe this is not for the beginner as it does require a small investment, but while the system is in it’s infancy you can get on board very cheaply – worth a look I would say.
