Go Forth and Get Wis.dm

November 30, 2007

Thanks to fellow Squidoo lensmaster, Loyalis, I have spent this morning on a fantastic site – Wis.dm. I think I am grateful, though I have achieved very little on my ‘To Do’ list so far as I’ve been having fun – with the noble purpose of doing research (or so I keep telling myself).
At [...]

So Excited

November 28, 2007

This is purely personal – I am so excited. The film of Philip Pullman’s stunning book series is coming soon, if you haven’t read the trilogy ‘His Dark Materials’ you have such a treat in store. They are wonderful, beautifully written, beautifully crafted and so gripping. Do yourselves a favour – go [...]

I am Impressed

November 27, 2007

I am impressed, and that doesn’t happen often.  As I said yesterday all my sites were being moved to a new server as I have changed my hosting package with my supplier.  I was nervous to put it mildly, it is no small thing to do – the theory is OK, but in practice these [...]

I am thankful for…

November 22, 2007

Today is Thanksgiving Day in the US, and before I go any further may I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.
We don’t have a festival of this nature here in the UK, the nearest we come is Harvest Festivals but they don’t have quite the same meaning and, I confess,  it isn’t something I had [...]

Giving Value

November 21, 2007

In The 7% Solution I think Seth summed up brilliantly what those of who work on the net need to do. Forget all those expensive marketing systems and shenanigans that the gurus try to sell you, they are worth diddly squat compared to the advice in that short post.

Reflections on Manners and Being Taken For Granted

November 20, 2007

It is not unusual for me to rant,  in fact when I really get going I’m told it can be quite entertaining – unless you are on the receiving end that is.  This, however is more in sadness than rage though that statement seems to invest the event with more importance than it is probably [...]

My favourite Firefox extension

November 19, 2007

One of the beauties of Firefox as a browser is the fact that you can tailor it to your own needs with a huge variety of plugins, extensions, add-ons – call them what you will. The choice in enormous but I have a favourite, do I ever have a favourite. I wish I could remember who told me about it because I owe that kind soul – big time! So what is this joyous thing that makes my life so easy, Cool Iris – cool by name and cool by nature.
